David William Hixson

David William Hixson, 60, of Fayetteville, Ark., died Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born Dec. 25, 1951, in Tulsa, Okla., to Gus and Betty (Lynch) Hixson. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and aggravating people. He loved going to church and spending time with his family. He had lived in the Northwest Arkansas area for 30 years after moving from Sperry, Okla. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Connie Hancock. Survivors include his longtime girlfriend, Lavada Strode; four sons, Billy Hixson and wife, Leann, Justin Hixson and wife, Breann, all of Fayetteville, Brandon Hixson and wife, April, of West Fork, and Cody Hixson of Lincoln; one daughter, Jeannie Rowbotham and husband, Reece, of Fayetteville; one brother, Chester Hancock of Fayetteville; two sisters, Deborah McCoy and husband, Orin, of Hindsville, and Sharon Booth of Garfield, Ark.; 19 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Graveside service Friday at noon at Wesley Cemetery, with John Smith officiating. Pallbearers: Billy, Brandon and Cody Hixson, Jeannie and Reece Rowbotham, and Sam Moog. Honorary pallbearers: Joshua, Jayden, Elijah and Justin Hixson, Draco and Logan Rowbotham, Billy Paxton, Chester Hancock, and Vernon and David Turner.
