Kenneth Moody Dennis, 86, of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, in Fayetteville. He was born in Hazel Valley, Ark., on Aug. 1, 1926, to Luther Dennis and Josephine Nickell Dennis. He was the owner and operator of Dennis Home Furnishings in Fayetteville for 52 years, a member of the Furniture Hall of Fame, past board member of the Arkansas Furniture Association, Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce, Noon Fayetteville Lions Club, Washington County Extension Service, Washington County Criminal Justice Committee and Day Star TV. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran having served in the European Theater, a member of Cross Church in Springdale, and loved sports mainly hunting, football, and basketball. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Cheryl Young. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Gerry Dennis; his sister, Donna Jo Reed of Fayetteville; his brother, Reverend Paul Dennis of Springdale; two grandchildren, Dennis Young and Alicia Fogley and his great-grandchildren, Vanessa and Brett Fogley. Kenneth was a loving and generous man with his family, church, and community. He always put faith and family first. Making a difference in the lives of others was something he prided himself in. He was a comforter, provider, and outdoorsman. Fearless is a word used by many to describe him. He lived life holding nothing back. He also embraced life with a joyful spirit. Kenneth loved to laugh and to share that laughter with others. He leaves behind family and friends all whose lives have been enriched in many ways by his words of wisdom and his zeal for life. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Dec. 16 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 17 at Sang Avenue Baptist Church with Reverend Paul Dennis officiating. Burial will follow at Baptist Ford Cemetery.
