Glynda Vestal Estes

Glynda Vestal Estes, 78, of Bentonville, Ark., passed away Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Circle of Life in Springdale, Ark., after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Feb. 8, 1934, in Mountainburg, Ark., to Carl Dee Hutchens and Emma Vestal McCook Hutchens. She lived 77 of her 78 years in Northwest Arkansas in the Mason Valley community. She enjoyed her life on the Hutchens-Estes family farm. She went to Vaughn Elementary School, graduated from Bentonville High School in 1952 and attended the University of Arkansas, where she met her future husband, Albert "A.R." Estes. She completed her ASCP medical technologist training at St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock. She worked at the Rogers Memorial Hospital and the Rogers Medical Center for over 35 years. Glynda was a devoted homemaker and spent many loving hours cooking, sewing and documenting the family history. She was passionate, kind, considerate and thoughtful of the needs and desires of others. Her love, support and encouragement will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Karyn Dale Estes; and one son, David Gregory Estes. Glynda is survived by the love of her life, her husband, Albert Ray "A.R" Estes Jr., whom she married 56 years ago on July 15, 1956, at the Vaughn Presbyterian Church in Vaughn, Ark.; one daughter, Gerre Denise Estes; and two grandchildren, Daniel Gregory Estes and Joy Ruth Estes. Her strength provided the foundation for her family and its future generations. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at the Vaughn Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at the Vaughn Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Ron Fields and Lynn Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72762.
