Robert Neal Jackson, 69, passed away Dec. 9, 2012, in Bentonville. He was born Feb. 18, 1943, in Baton Rouge, La., the son of Fred Jones Jackson and Helen Eugenia Neal. Robert graduated from Baton Rouge High School and attended college for two years before spending time as a tank mechanic and paratrooper for the Army's 82nd Airborne Unit. He worked in retail for most of his life, spending the last several years at Lowe's in Rogers before retiring in August to spend time with his family and enjoy his favorite hobbies. He loved golfing and fishing, as well as following his favorite teams, the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints, who won the Super Bowl in 2009, much to his surprise and delight. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Gayle; two sons, Neal and his wife, Christine, of Tulsa, and Bryan and his wife, Meredith, of Bella Vista. He has one older brother, Tommy Jackson of Los Angeles. A memorial get-together will be held at Country Inn and Suites in Rogers from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15.
