Thomas Garner, 74, of Farmington died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at Washington Regional Medical Center.
He was born March 30, 1938, in York, Neb., to Willey and Esthu Garner.
He served in the U.S. Army for 25 years and retired as Sgt. First Class where he served two tours in Vietnam.
He also worked for the U.S Post Office in Fort Smith for 17 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
Survivors include his wife, Yong Garner of the home; son, Sam Garner and wife, Hanh Bui of San Antonio, Texas; three daughters, Betty Garner and husband, Joshua Carlsen of Germany, Amy Justice and husband, Christopher of Allen, Texas, and Mona Garner of Austin, Texas; two daughters, Carole and Lynn; brother, Allen Garner of Joplin, Mo.; sister, Helen of Geneva, Neb.; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at Beard's Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville.
Private burial will be at held at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
