Evan 'Kirby' Nelson

Evan "Kirby" Nelson, age 79, of Rogers passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, in Rogers. Kirby was born in Hospers, Iowa, on Dec. 18, 1932, to Frances C. and Nellie (Jones) Nelson. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict and received an honorable discharge. Kirby worked for the Rogers School District for many years, and he enjoyed playing golf and boating and fishing. Preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers; Kirby is survived by his wife, Ginger of the home; one son; three daughters; one sister; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
