Fredrick "Fred" Nathaniel Kamps

Fredrick "Fred" Nathaniel Kamps, 80, a resident of Prairie Grove, passed away Dec. 8, 2012, at Prairie Grove Health and Rehabilitation. He was born May 2, 1932, in Caney, Kan., the son of Herman Henry and Ruth Adaline Sanders Kamps. Fred worked in the wholesale food industry for Lucky Stores for many years until his retirement when he and his wife moved to Prairie Grove. In Prairie Grove he drove a school bus for the Prairie Grove School District and was assistant dog catcher for Prairie Grove. He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant sister. Fred was an avid bowler, he enjoyed fishing from his pontoon boat. In his younger years, he enjoyed duck hunting and squirrel hunting. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Lena Kamps; one son, Stephen Fred Kamps of Prairie Grove. No services are planned at this time.
