Richard I. Clark

Richard I. Clark of Bella Vista, Ark., died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012. Richard (Dick) was the husband of Pauline; father of James (Cindy), Susan, Julie (Peter); grandfather of Llywelyn, Evan, Eanna and Emily; great-grandfather of Cyrus and Finnigan; brother of Charlie; and uncle of Cindy and Vicki. Dick was born in New York City on May 18, 1930, son of Charles Clark and Dorris (Knoerr) Clark. He grew up in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Mass. He served in the Navy aboard the USS Ozbourn during the Korean War. He married Pauline Farrell on Jan. 2, 1954, and raised three children in New Jersey. In 1995, they moved to Bella Vista and had the good fortune to share 17 years of congenial retirement. Those who knew him valued his forthrightness and his exuberant enthusiasm for a hand of Bridge, a book of history and good times in good company. Rekindled connections from Manchester days brightened his final months and gladdened his heart to the end. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark.
