Gwendolyn C. Ziegler

Gwendolyn Cora Ziegler, 94, died Dec. 2, 2012, in Rogers, Ark. She was born in Aurora, Ill., on March 2, 1918, to the late Glenn C. and Anna B. (Abel) Mitchell. She was married to Robert O. Ziegler on Aug. 2, 1941, and celebrated 68 years of marriage until his death in October 2009. Mrs. Ziegler was an avid artist and painted many wonderful pieces, especially during their years in Hawaii. She was a member of the Rogers Art Guild, sang in the choir at the First United Methodist Church in Rogers and enjoyed being a part of her Sunday school class. She is survived by her four sons, Robert M. (Nancy) Ziegler of Springdale, William M. (Kendra) of Fargo, N.D., Barry A. (Maureen) of Burnsville, Minn., and Richard C. (Mary) of Toledo, Ohio; daughter, Marianne Ziegler of Rogers; sister, Anna Jane Banks of Santa Monica, Calif.; 11 grandchildren, Robert Ziegler, Michael Ziegler, Alex Ziegler, Nathan Ziegler, Zach (Susie) Ziegler, Tricia (Ken) Madden, Tom (Chrissy) Ziegler, Kerry Ziegler, Scott Ziegler, Anna Ziegler and Sage Ziegler; 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Glenn "Bud" Mitchell, Irene Friebele, Marian Smith and Louise Mitchell. A visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at 10 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church, Rogers, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. She will be interred at a later date in Aurora, Ill. Memorials can be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72764. Services are being arranged by Callison-Lough Funeral Home, Rogers.
