Carolyn Janice Johnson, 72, of West Fork died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at Washington Regional Medical Center. She was born April 21, 1940, in Whiteville, N.C., to Lee and Irene Bowen. She retired from University of Arkansas Brough Commons after many years, a longtime member of Baptist Ford Community Church and a member of the Washington County Extension Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ernest Bowen; and sister, Charlene Gough. Survivors include her husband, Charles A. Johnson of the home; two daughters, Carolyn Ann Rice and husband, Mickey and Barbara Marie McBroom and husband, David, both of West Fork; son, Charles E. Johnson of West Fork; brother, Clifton Bowen of Jacksonville, Fla.; sister, Elizabeth Kilburn of Naples, Fla.; grandchildren, Tina Marie Donahue and Ryan Donahue, both of Fayetteville, and Nicole Marie McBroom of West Fork; great-granddaughter, Makayla Donahue of Fayetteville; and many other family members and friends. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Baptist Ford Community Church in Greenland with the Rev. Irvin Hutchins officiating. Burial will be at Mineral Springs Cemetery.
