Bettie Jo (Jones) Halsell

Bettie Jo (Jones) Halsell, 86, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at Clarehouse in Tulsa, Okla. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 8, at Chester Freewill Baptist Church. Internment will be at Fairview Memorial Cemetery in Fayetteville. Bettie Jo Jones was born March 11, 1926, in Bentonville, the only child of Lemuel R. and Beatrice Maples Jones. In 1948, she married Hampton Lee Halsell of Fayetteville, who preceded her in death. In their 34-year marriage, they shared a love of the outdoors, art, and many other interests and hobbies. Bettie was a bookkeeper for several companies in Rogers and Fayetteville. After retirement, she did volunteer work for several years at the Veteran's Hospital in Fayetteville. Surviving are her sons, Kent Halsell and wife, Ann, of Coweta, Okla., and Lee Halsell of Mountainburg; five grandchildren, Barbara Halsell Wilson, Jeff Halsell, Eric Halsell, Joshua Halsell and Katie Halsell; and five great-grandchildren, Whitney Kimrey, Holly and Emily Wilson, and Cole and Jonah Halsell.
