Lidi Eros Gasparotto, 75, of Fort Smith, Ark., passed away on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012. He was born on Nov. 1, 1937, to Albina and Germano Gasparotto of Tontitown, Ark., who preceded him in death. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. He was a retired Air Force veteran who served his country proudly for 23 years, including numerous extended worldwide tours of duty, followed by a 20 year career as a service technician for Wight's Office Machines in Fort Smith. He was a generous and loving man with a wonderful sense of humor and he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Erna Gasparotto of Friesing, Germany; daughter and son-in-law, Marla and David Hicks of Greenwood, Ark.; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Theresa Gasparotto of Van Buren, Ark.; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Kim Gasparotto of Barling, Ark.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Rozetta and Larry Nelke of Fort Smith, Ark.; and nephew, David Nelke and family of Frisco, Texas. Pallbearers will be Justin Gasparotto, Jeremy Gasparotto, Zachary Gasparotto, Ryan Gasparotto, Aaron Ruckman and Tyler Hassell. Honorary pallbearer will be David Nelke. Visitation will be at 6 p.m., followed by the Rosary at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at Fentress Mortuary Chapel in Fort Smith. Services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at Fentress Mortuary Chapel with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery with military honors.
