Audrey O. Oxford, 102, of the Rock Community passed away on Aug. 28, 2012, at her home. She was born Sept. 8, 1909, in Kingston, Ark., the daughter of Virgile A. and Mollie Jane Parker Bowen. She was a lifelong resident of Madison County and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family and friends, who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, C.L. "Lum" Oxford; her parents; four brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include four sons and three daughters-in-law, William "Buzz" Oxford, Lennis "Toad" and Donna Oxford, and Charles "Charlie" and Betty Oxford, and Lorin "Buddy" and Loretta Oxford; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Ola Mae Sherry, Ova Lea and Leon Clinton, and Bernice and Virgil Bohlen; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other friends and family members. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home, with the Rev. Anthony Lane officiating. Interment will be in the Rambo Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home, www.brashearsfuneralhome.net, of Huntsville, Ark. Pallbearers will be her sons and grandsons, Willliam Oxford, Lennis Oxford, Charles Oxford, Lorin Oxford, Doyle Lee Sherry, Jason Oxford and Eric Oxford. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
