Virginia Bumgarner Massie

Virginia Bumgarner Massie, age 75, of Springdale, Ark., went on to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, surrounded by her family who loved her dearly. She was born Nov. 22, 1936, in West Fork, Ark., to John and Lelia (Walker) Bumgarner. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, David H. Massie of the home; three children, Carol Massie of Springdale, John Massie of Fayetteville, and Marilyn Massie Weilenman and husband, James, of Springdale; two grandchildren, Josiah Weilenman and Jamison Weilenman; two brothers, Raymond Bumgarner of Fayetteville, and Bob Bumgarner and wife, Pauline, of Lincoln, Ark.; many nieces and nephews; and best friend, Margaret Taylor for more than 65 years; and many more wonderful friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, from 4-6 p.m. at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Chapel in Springdale. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, at the Faith Assembly of God Church in Springdale, with Pastor Billy Burks and Pastor Tim O'Brien officiating the service. Pallbearers are Ronnie Combs, Adam Aosburn, Michael Tillery, Kerry Owen, Shelby Bumgarner and Rick Bumgarner. Committal service will be at the Fayetteville National Cemetery at 1 p.m. Thursday.
