Ruby L. McDonald

Ruby L. Wilson McDonald, 92, was born in Seminole Okla., on Nov. 2, 1920. She passed from this life on Aug. 26, 2012, surrounded by family who loved her so dearly. Ruby was the daughter of Charles and Myrtle (Sargent) Wilson. She was one of four children in the Wilson family. She made her home in the Prairie Grove area most of her life. Ruby lived on the Malicoat Mountain, land that was originally homestead by the McDonald family in the 1800s. Her family loved visiting and spending time with her on the mountain. Ruby was a very caring and giving person. She was loved by all who knew her. Ruby enjoyed gardening, cooking, piecing quilts, and visiting with her family. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Fred McDonald; infant daughter, Betty McDonald; her parents, Charley and Myrt Wilson; two brothers, Merl and Harold Wilson; son, William (Bill) and wife, Mary Lou McDonald. She is survived by her daughter, Helen Hamlin and husband, Bill, from Owasso, Okla.; sister, Wanda Rieff, Prairie Grove, Ark.; daughter-in-law, Debbie McDonald, Greenland Ark.; five grandchildren, Kay Price and husband, Harvey, from Muskogee, Okla., Connie Martin and husband, Davy, from Collinsville, Okla., Dale Coble from Collinsville, Okla., Dee Ann Wicoff and Sean McCrory from Lewisville, Texas, Bill McDonald and wife, Mary, Kansas City, Kan.; 15 great-grand Children; nine great-greatgrandchildren and two on-the-way. She leaves behind beloved nieces and nephews and many friends including special friends, Irene Day and Wilma Miller. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, 2 p.m. at the Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove. The family will visit with friends from 1 p.m. until service time. Interment will be at the McDonald Cemetery near Hog Eye; graveside services will not be held at the cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Prairie Grove.
