Bobby Lee Armer

Bobby Lee Armer was born Dec. 1, 1939, to Lena Margarette Cline Armer and James Leo Armer in Newton County, Ark., and Bobby passed from this life at the age of 72 on Aug. 12, 2012, in Rogers, Ark. Bobby is survived by one son and two daughters: Bobby Dale Armer and wife, Juli, of Springdale, Robin Smith and husband, Donny, of Springdale, and Katrena Pianalto and husband, Tony, of Hindsville; eight sisters and four brothers: Vermalea Smith of Fayetteville, Ruby Popp of Hoisington, Kan., Jane Spencer of Marshall, Christa Wittlinger of Germany, Jean Dannebohm of Liberal, Kan., Jodi Hime of McPherson, Kan., Karen Wojtak of Denver, Colo., Sharon Franz of White Lake, Minn., Jack Armer of Florence, Ore., Dick Armer of Preston, Kan., Jim Armer of Arlington, Kan., and Bill Armer of Arkansas City, Kan.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends, along with his loyal and faithful dog, Molly. Bobby was preceded in death by his mother and father; one son, Mark Armer; his much-loved companion, Barbara Springston, and daughter, Amber Springston; one brother, Kenneth Dean Armer; and one sister, Pat Harden. Bobby was a veteran of the Army National Guard. He was a logger, truck driver and owner-operator of an excavation company. He loved being in the woods, camping, hunting and fishing. He shared a love of cooking with his children, often cooking for others or enjoying what they had cooked for him, smoking meats, canning and making jerky. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25 at Westbridge Freewill Baptist Church, 4596 W. Wedington Drive in Fayetteville. Family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Heart Association or to the Arkansas Wildlife Conservation, in his memory.
