Madeline Jean McDowell

Madeline Jean McDowell, 71, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Ark. She was born on Jan. 22, 1941, in Davenport, Iowa, to Thomas Clark and Louise Hall Clark. She was raised and educated in Iowa. Madeline married Arlo McDowell in February 1961. She was employed as an accountant at various places in Des Moines, Iowa. They moved to Bella Vista, Ark., in 2009. She was a P.E.O. member and enjoyed playing bridge. Madeline was an active member of St. Theodore's Episcopal Church in Bella Vista. They traveled extensively in their R.V. Madeline was an organ donor. She was preceded in death by her parents; and granddaughter, Elizabeth McDowell. She is survived by her husband, Arlo of Bella Vista, Ark.; two sons, Steven McDowell (Debbie) of Omaha, Neb., Michael McDowell (Laura) of Pleasant Hill, Calif.; one brother, James Clark (Janine) of Urbandale, Iowa; two sisters, Margaret Allen of Tucson, Ariz., Marilyn Hills (Kent) of Lanham, Md.; three grandchildren, Daniel, Thomas and Emily. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, at St. Theodore's Episcopal Church, with Father Ken Parks officiating. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark. Memorials are suggested to St. Theodore's Memorial Fund.
