Ronnie Lee Barnes

Ronnie Lee Barnes, age 65, of Centerton, Ark., and formerly of the Mini-Cassia area, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012. He was born Dec. 13, 1946, in Rocky Mount, N.C., the son of Durand Sylvester and Ida Ruth Johnson Barnes. He proudly served his country as a nuclear propulsion plant operator, mostly aboard the USS Enterprise from 1967 until his honorable discharge in 1979. He was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served a mission in Mexico. He married Dawn Davis in the Oakland LDS Temple. Seven children were born to this marriage. Following the passing of his first wife, Dawn, he married Ruth Young in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He dearly loved his family and his ready smile and heartfelt laughter will be missed. He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Ruth Barnes of Centerton; five daughters, Kendra Martin of Hershey, Pa., LeAnn Tribett of Conway, Ark., Chris Horton of Beaumont, Texas, Brenna Center of Prairie Grove, Ark., and Kara Townsend of Biloxi, Miss. (and their spouses); 13 grandchildren; and six siblings and their spouses. In addition to his first wife, Dawn, he was preceded in death by his parents; and two daughters, Erin and Kira. A memorial service will take place Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 950 Seba Road, Centerton.
