Carolyn Louise Sprague Cline, 80, of Fort Smith died August 10, 2012 in Fort Smith. She was born March 20, 1932 in Phillipsburg, KS to Frank W., Jr. and Eula Louise Miley Sprague. She was a 1950 graduate of Neodesha High School in Neodesha, Kan. While pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Education degree at Phillips University, in Enid, Okla., she was active in student council, a member of the band, a lifeguard, was the Senior May Queen and was in the 1954 Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities. She started teaching in Eureka Springs, Arkansas in 1965, then in 1971 established classes for special needs children in Springdale, AR. She also taught at Southside Elementary and Bonnie Grimes Elementary in Rogers, Ark. until her retirement in 1997. She was a descendant of Richard Warren and a member of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants. She is survived by her son, Alan Cline of Fort Smith and a sister, Mary Francis Dibble of Prairie Village, Kan. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Duane Anthony Cline and her brother, William Leigh Sprague. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
