Jack Jones Hollingsworth Sr.

Jack Hollingsworth, 78, of Pine Bluff, died Friday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center from cancer. Born in Hampton, Ark., in 1934, Jack graduated from Dyess High School in 1952 before receiving his degree in Geology from the University of Arkansas in 1956 where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Upon graduation, he married Jaclyn Twila Puckett, his beloved wife for the next 38 years and who preceded him in death in 1994. Moving to Pine Bluff in 1958, Jack worked for International Paper where he was known as a tireless worker, a fair-minded manager and a loyal friend during his 35-year career. He loved hunting and fishing and was a member of the Jefferson Lake Hunting Club for more than 50 years. "Big Jack and Jackie" raised their three sons, Bill, Jack and Scott in Pine Bluff and developed many close friendships Jack enjoyed through his final days. In 1998, Jack married Ann Koonce, who survives him in death. As loving and devoted companions, Jack and Ann shared the joy of children, grandchildren and friends during their 14-year marriage. Jack is survived by his three sons and their wives, Bill (Julie), Jack (DeBe) and Scott (Amy); grandchildren, Seth, Emily, Jack III, Harrison and Zach; stepdaughter, Karen Koonce Ytterberg (Alan) and their children Will and John; and a sister, Sylvia Anthony of Hot Springs. A graveside ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Rogers City cemetery in Rogers, Ark., and a memorial service is scheduled 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Pine Bluff followed by a reception featuring Jack's favorite dessert. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Pine Bluff in memory of Jack.
