Lawrence 'Larry' Baker

Lawrence "Larry" Baker, age 80, of Rogers, and formerly of Jasper, Ark., passed away Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, in Rogers. Larry was born in Las Vegas, N.M., on July 2, 1932, to Lawrence Elmo Sr. and Eva (Plotner) Baker. Larry served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and received an honorable discharge. Larry really enjoyed hunting and fishing and he loved his dog, Sassy. Preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou Baker in 2010; his parents; and one stepson, Ronald D. Graves; Larry is survived by two stepdaughters, Nancy C. Hankins and husband, Bill, of Rogers, Kelly Fryrear and husband, Curtis, of Searcy, Ark.; one stepdaughter-in-law, Deborah Graves of Rogers; one brother, Eddie Baker and wife, Diane, of Nevada; three sisters, Louella Gaston and husband, Bill, of Utah, Ruby Jones of California, Phyllis Cupp and husband, Orman, of New Mexico; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at the Fayetteville National Cemetery (700 Government Ave.) in Fayetteville, Ark., with Navy honors.
