James Fay McGuire

James Fay McGuire, 87, of Fayetteville, passed away on Aug. 6, 2012, at the V.A Medical Center. He was born Sept. 17, 1924, in Huntsville, Ark., to Samuel and Maude McGuire. He was a veteran who proudly served as a corporal in the U.S Army during World War II. He saw service at Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. He also served as a sergeant in the National Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen Marjorie McGuire; son, Phillip McGuire; five brothers; and one sister. Survivors include his son, Larry McGuire of Fayetteville; three daughters, Marsha Lindsay and Rhonda McGuire, both of Fayetteville, and Phyllis DeBrandt of Farmington; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends at Beard's Funeral Chapel Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, from 9 to 10 a.m. A graveside service will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Dowell Cemetery in Fayetteville.
