Hazel (Hicks) Buttram died Aug. 1, 2012, in Springdale. She was born on Jan. 17, 1925, in Selma, N.C., to the late Ramie and Flora (Stallings) Hicks. She was the loving wife of Wallace E. Buttram of Rogers. She graduated from Selma Glendale High School and then attended the Raleigh Business School. Hazel worked in civil service at the Air Force School in Goldsboro, N.C., and the Rationing Board in Essex, Md. She also worked for Avon for 45 years. After Hazel and Wallace married in 1945, they moved from Essex, Md., to Rogers in 1948. She is survived by her husband; sons, Rick and Jayne Buttram of Rogers, Ark., and Randy and Jo Buttram of Rogers, Ark.; stepdaughter, Sharon; sisters, Dorthy Hicks Long of Goldsboro, N.C., Ruby Janet Hicks Narron and husband, Kelly, of Kirby, N.C., Kathie Hicks Crocker and husband, Jerry, of Lillington, N.C.; grandchildren, Mance Buttram of Miami, Fla., Shelby and Matt Shy of Bentonville, Ark., Heather Buttram Gales of Rogers, Ark., Eric Buttram of Rogers; great-grandchildren, Ella Gales of Rogers, Ark., and Brooks Shy of Bentonville, Ark. Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, at 10 a.m. in Rollins Funeral Home chapel, with burial to follow at Oakley Chapel Cemetery.
