Frances Elizabeth Hays Williams

Frances Elizabeth Hays Williams departed this life on July 30, 2012. She was born on March 18, 1906 in Frisco, Texas to Frances "Fannie" Virginia White Hays and Sam Davis Hays. Her father, originally from Tennessee, was traveling to Texas to find land when he met her mother Fannie. Together, they traveled west to Scurry County, Texas where they made their home and Elizabeth made her start in life. After graduating from West Texas College she first was employed as a dietitian at a hospital in Kokomo, Indiana, then fatefully took at job in 1933 at the Arkansas Tuberculosis Sanatorium in Booneville, where she met her husband of over 50 years, Judge Paul X Williams, of Booneville, Arkansas. They made a wonderful life with each other, raised five children and made countless friends. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Booneville, a 50 year plus member of the Booneville Garden Club, PEO, Booneville Music Club and PTA. She was named Booneville Citizen of the year in 1996. She enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to see many parts of the world during her lifetime. She is preceded in death by her husband, Judge Paul X Williams and her son, Judge Paul X Williams Jr. She is survived by one of her seven siblings, Bobby Lou Hays Richardson, of Snyder, Texas, her home town. Her four surviving children are Dr. Charles David Williams of Little Rock, Judge Elizabeth Hays Williams Danielson of Booneville, Sally Williams Gorrell of Eureka Springs, and John Roger Williams of Booneville. She leaves behind many adored grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, numerous friends, beloved adopted children, and many animals that she loved like they were her children. She lived a big life, was loved my many, entertained hosts of people, and will be missed by her family and many friends. Celebration of Life Service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, August 3, 2012 at The First Baptist Church in Booneville, Arkansas, under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday evening at the Williams home, 915 North Kennedy, in Booneville, Arkansas. The Pallbearers will be Hugh Bonner, Billy Bob Cauthron, Don Dunn, Perry Mikles, David Ryles, James Roberts, R.B. Short, Bill Wiggins, Larry Smee, Dave Maxwell, Jim Ed Burton and Alan Caspi. The honorary pallbearers will be the P.E.O. chapter members and Van Kirkpatrick.
