Travis Dean Cox

Travis Dean Cox, 28, of Farmington, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012, in Rogers. He was born Nov. 11, 1983, in Mountain Home, Ark., the son of Jimmy Dean and Tracie Simmons Cox. He was employed as an electrician and project manager for Bill's Electric Inc. Survivors include his wife, Stephanie Gray Cox, and two sons, Grayson Dean Cox and Dalton William Cox, all of the home; his father, Dean Cox of Farmington; mother and stepfather, Tracie and Adam Dennis of Mountain Home; sister, Jesica Talbert of Conway; grandparents, Dale and Linda Cox of Mountain Home and Reta and Paul Simmons of Chicago, Ill. Travis was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish and hunt. He was a great marksman with a bow and a crack shot with a rifle, proud to put meat on the table for his family, and he could cook it up, too, unlike Stephanie; he was an excellent cook and he tried to keep her out of his kitchen as much as possible. Travis loved to boat and float and spend his summers on the water with his family and friends. He took Stephanie on her first ever floating trip over the Labor Day weekend of the summer they began dating; the next Labor Day weekend they got married. Each summer they took this same float trip, with family often joining the fun. Grayson joined the family on this trip, and last summer, Travis was excited to take Dalton out on the lake to boat in Mountain Home. As a Razorback fan, Travis loved to call the Hogs with his family and friends. He enjoyed picking his guitar and playing music. He loved to have fun and would sit around his fire pit telling stories with good friends. He was a great storyteller and his stories became a little more exciting with each telling. Travis was a hard worker, always striving to be the first person in the office each morning; he wanted to be prompt everywhere he went, which was always a struggle with Stephanie in tow. Travis was kind, smart, funny, witty and generous, always willing to help a friend. He had a great sense of humor and always knew how to make anyone laugh and feel comfortable. His laugh was infectious. Travis' best accomplishment was his two boys, both of whom he was fiercely protective and immensely proud. Travis loved his friends, his family, his wife and his kids; he loved his life and he really lived it. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Beard's Funeral Chapel with Pastor Aaron Gonzalez officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
