Bernelle Louise Whillock

Bernelle Louise Whillock, 87, of Bryan, Texas, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2012. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 29, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Goshen United Methodist Church in Goshen, Ark. Hillier Funeral Home of Bryan, Texas, is entrusted with her care. Bernelle was born in Habberton, Ark., to Knox and Pearl Wilson. She married Everett in 1943 and they had five children. She was very involved in the communities they lived in, including the churches and their children's activities. Bernelle was active in the women's group of several Methodist churches including: Wiggins United Methodist Church and Sequoyah United Methodist Church in Fayetteville and Goshen United Methodist Church in Goshen. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, attended the School of Missions, taught Sunday school and served on several Boards of Trustees. Bernelle supported her community and children by being involved as a Cub Scout Den Mother, Girl Scout Troop Leader and a PTA officer. Bernelle and Everett were active members of the Arts & Crafts community traveling to many shows throughout Arkansas and Missouri. They also enjoyed raising and selling produce at the farmer's market on the Fayetteville square. Bernelle was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Everett Whillock; and her daughter, Cheryl Whillock. She is survived by two sons, James and wife, Laurel Whillock, of Waikoloa, Hawaii, and David and wife, Cathleen Whillock, of Colleyville, Texas; two daughters, Bonnie and husband, Tom Byram, of College Station, Texas, and Karen Mountain of Murrieta, Calif.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at St. Joseph Manor of Bryan, Texas, for their loving care of Bernelle.
