Donald Edward Hannemann Locander, 84, of Rogers passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012. He was born Sept. 5, 1927, in Chicago, Ill., to the late George and Victoria (Gabel) Hannemann. Donald was a Navy veteran, serving in WWII, was a Charter Member of the WWII Memorial, Lifetime Charter Member of VFW Post 3031 in Rogers, Life Member and Past Commander of the American Legion Post 100 in Rogers, Past Member of Masonic Lodge 119 in Pea Ridge, 32 Degree Mason and Shriner, Life Member DAV Chapter 53 in Bentonville, Member Voiture Local 1277, Order of the Eastern Star Martha Chapter 215 in Rogers, Member USS De Haven Sailors Association, Charter Member Beaver Lake Power Squadron, former Constable of Garfield Township (1974-1977) and a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Rogers. Donald loved to sail and worked in real estate since 1973. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Betty; and one daughter, Darla Reeves. Survivors include his two children, Bonnie Sanchez of Chicago and Dale S. Locander and wife, Debbie, of Rogers; six grandchildren, Nina Francone and husband, John, of Gilbert, Ariz., Karen and Chris Sanchez of Chicago, Donald Scott Locander of Rogers, Jennifer Locander of Rogers and Nathan Reeves of Pea Ridge; and two great-grandchildren. Services for Donald will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers, with visitation the evening before from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, at the funeral home.
