Wylie L. Sparks

Wylie L. Sparks, 79, of Grove, Okla., died April 10, 2012, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital, Siloam Springs, Ark. Born Jan. 13, 1933, in Elmore City, Okla., he was the son of Jay Sparks and Esther Sizemore Sparks. He was employed by the Bella Vista Golf Course as the supervisor of golf equipment. He lived in the Decatur and Rogers, Ark., area prior to moving to Grove in 1996. Wylie was a graduate of Oklahoma City Capitol Hill School. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Independent Baptist Church in Grove, Okla. He was preceded in death by one brother, Edgar Sparks. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Janet Van Dyke Sparks of the home; one son, Mike Sparks of Dallas, Texas; two daughters, Julie Randolph and husband, Troy, of Lubbock, Texas, and Gayle McDowell of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Gerald Sparks and wife, Wilma, of Salina, Okla., Kenneth Sparks and wife, Jeanette, of Tuttle, Okla., and Truitt Sparks of Moore, Okla.; two stepdaughters, Jan Long of Tyler, Texas, and Rhonda Pinter and husband, Paul, of Tulsa, Okla.; eight step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2012, at The Independent Baptist Church, Grove, Okla., with the Rev. Marty Hughes officiating.
