Chester Wayne Miller entered his eternal home on April 4, 2012. His legacy continues to live on in those that he invested his time, love and skills. He is reunited with his wife, Noretta Miller, who preceded him in death on April 28, 2009. Their marriage, family, farm and custom homebuilding business were all examples of the teamwork that characterized their lives. Chet was born in Oakdale, Okla., on Dec. 26, 1936. His family raised watermelons and other crops there until he graduated in 1955 from Cleo Springs High school. While on wheat harvest through the Midwest, he met the daughter of a west Texas harvester and they were married in Muleshoe, Texas. In 1960 they moved to Northwest Arkansas and began a custom home construction business along with raising cattle. This business grew as the area expanded and Chet continued his reputation for building a quality home and being a man of his word. He built a thriving home construction business on this motto "the best advertisement is a satisfied customer." We seek to live out the values of hard work, honesty and loyalty he personified. Chet was preceded in death by his wife, Noretta; and son, Ricky Miller; his parents Ernest and Myrtle Miller; his brothers, Don and Robert Miller; his sisters, Lota Henderson, Lois Adams and Mary Lou Miller. He lives on in his daughter Melinda Blackwell and husband, Ken, of Cave Springs; his son, Dennis Miller and wife, Kerry, of Albuquerque, N.M., and son, Randy Miller and wife, Jennifer, of North Richland Hills, Texas. His impact is also seen in his grandchildren, Alicia and Nathan Brown, Ryan and Rachel Blackwell, Kelsey, Delaney, Cara and Allison Miller. His great-grandchildren also are examples of his love: Will, Kate, Eli, Liv Brown and Brady Blackwell. He is also survived by his brother, Dean Miller and wife, Marian, of Edmond, Okla.; brother, Bill Miller and wife, Diane, of Bella Vista, brother-in-law, Don Adams of Tulsa, and sister-in-law, Ruth Miller of Thornton, Colo. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews whom he loved. Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain, Psalm 127:1. Services will be held at 11 a.m. April 14 at Cross Church in Springdale where he was a member since 1963. Burial will be in Rogers at Benton County Memorial Park cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be at the chapel of Cross Church of Springdale on Friday, April 13, from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale in memory of Chet Miller.
