Mildred Mary Smith, 92, of Springdale, Ark., died April 4, 2012, at the Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville, Ark. She was born Dec. 25, 1919, in Marble, Ark, the daughter of James Edward "Ed" and Delphia Caroline "Carrie" Berry Myers. She had retired from Cargill Inc., and was of the Assembly of God faith. She was the widow of Winifred Ray Smith, whom she married on July 10, 1937, and who preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 1945. She was also preceded in death by one son, Harold Ray Smith; two daughters, Janet Winifred Evans and Carol Sue Roper; two brothers, Forrest Myers and Harold Myers; three sisters, Vina Grubb, Opal Wright and Maxine Tabor; and by one grandson, Jack D. Roper. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Si and Jane Smith of Springdale, Ark.; one daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Winfred Eaton of Wesley, Ark.; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 7, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Spurlock officiating. Interment will be in the Alabam Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home, www.brashearsfuneralhome.net, of Huntsville, Ark. Pallbearers will be Tim Smith, Eddie Roper, Mark Eaton, Ray Eaton, Jared Eaton and Tilden Eaton. Honorary pallbearers will be Aron Smith, Cole Smith, Elijah Smith, Nathan Roper, Park Roper, Eddie Rusk, Matthew Rusk, Nicholas Rusk, Braden Wagner, Spencer Lowe, Samuel Lowe, Seth Lowe, Talon Eaton and Mason Whinnery. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Willard Walker Hospice Home, 34 Colt Square, Fayetteville, AR 72703.
