Johnny Joe Shadowens Jr., 50, of Springdale, Arkansas, passed from this world on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 in Springdale, Arkansas. Joe, as he was known by everyone, was born at Camp Lejune, North Carolina on December 19, 1961 to his loving parents, Johnny Joe Shadowens and Edna Young Shadowens. He graduated from Arkansas Tech in Russellville, Arkansas with a Bachelor's in Business Administration. He was a faithful member and Deacon for the Westside Church of Christ in Springdale, Arkansas. Joe was a wonderful Christian, husband, and father. Joe has gone to his reward. Joe is survived by his wife Regina "Gina" Shadowens, whom he married on August 3, 1985, a son Kyle and a daughter Bethany Ann, all of the home; his parents, Johnny Joe Shadowens and Edna Young Shadowens; one brother, Larry Shadowens of North Little Rock, Arkansas; one sister, Theresa Shadowens Smith and husband Scott, and their children, Aaron and Megan, all of Blytheville, Arkansas; father-in-law, Claudie Lovell of Fort Smith; a sister-in-law, Stephanie Mealer and her husband Michael, and their children, Reagan and Ryan all of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; along with a host of friends and other family members. Funeral services will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Chapel on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 11 a.m. Mike Pittman will officiate the service with burial being held at the Pinnacle Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Springdale. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Online guestbook at www.backstrom-pyeatte.com.
