Katie Ann Watson

Katie Ann Watson, 71, of Winslow, died Sunday in Fayetteville. She was born Oct. 7, 1940, in Prairie Grove, Ark., the daughter of Raymond Chase and Jean Clark Chase. Katie dedicated her life to volunteering to youth organizations, including scouting and 4-H, before becoming a charter member and officer of VFW Post 10843 and a member of VFW ladies auxiliary. Katie was preceded in death by her husband, of 54 years, Bobby G. Watson; and son, Raymond Keith Watson. Survivors include three daughters, Vicky L. Dayle of Hot Springs, Ark., Mary K. Young of Kalamazoo, Mich., Susan A. Watson of Winslow, Ark.; son, Bobby J. Watson of Fayetteville; sister, Erma J. Chase of Winslow, Ark.; brother, Richard K. Chase of Winslow, Ark.; two grandsons; and two great-granddaughters. The family request that memorials in her name be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital, 1 Children's Way, Little Rock, AR 72202-3591. Private family service will be held, Thursday, April 5, 2012.
