Duane Hartman, 65, of Tontitown, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2012, at his residence. He was born in Tontitown, Ark., on Sept. 18, 1946, a son of George and Alma (Cigainero) Hartman. He served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam and was awarded the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device (60-), National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. He retired from Pepsi Co. in California and moved to Arkansas in 1991 where he retired from Coca-Cola in 2009. He is survived by his mother, Alma Hartman of Tontitown; three children, Tonya Cole and husband, Will, Janet Hartman and Duane Hartman Jr., all of Murietta, Calif.; three sisters, Pat Pellin and husband, Danny, Eugenia Hartman, all of Tontitown, and Mary Nell Plumlee of Fayetteville; three grandchildren, Jordan Cole, Cory Cole and Jeremiah White; three nieces; three nephews; one great-nephew; and two great-nieces. Duane was preceded in death by his father; and his aunt, Lillian Edwards. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tontitown. Father Greg Hart will officiate the service with burial being held at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Tontitown, under the direction of the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Springdale. Pallbearers will be Gile Mantegani, Michael Hartman, Eric Pellin, Kevin Plumlee, George Whorton and Anthony Ranalli. Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Memorials can be made in his name to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1100 N.
