Gwendolyn LaNeal Mitchum Browers

Gwendolyn LaNeal Mitchum Browers, 65, of Decatur, Arkansas, died November 8, 2011, at her home. Born July 12, 1946, in Batesville, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Neal Mitchum and Josephine Morris Oakley. She lived in Little Rock for many years and worked at the VA Hospital before moving to Northwest Arkansas. She retired from the VA Hospital in Fayetteville as an administrator after 30 years with the VA. She was a member of the Eastgate Church of Christ in Siloam Springs. She loved her church and all the friends she had there, but most of all she loved the Lord. She married Marvin L. Browers in Fayetteville on March 16, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Marilyn Legebokoff. Survivors include her husband Marvin of the home; one son, Joseph Kelly and wife Jennifer of Cave Springs, Arkansas; two sisters, Maxine Newcomb and husband Larry of Jacksonville, Florida and Caroline Brown and husband Thurman of Vilonia, Arkansas; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Kevin Browers, Terry Lee Potter, Barry Jackson, Steve Truitt, Clay Bradshaw, Larry Scott Newcomb, and Charles Newcomb. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, November 11, 2011, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs, Arkansas, with Doug Guilliams officiating. Burial will follow at Falling Springs Cemetery, Decatur, Arkansas. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, November 10, 2011, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.
