Billie Slezak, 79, of Hot Springs, Ark. died Friday, July 1, 2011. She was born Aug. 29, 1931 to the late Charles Otto and Gertrude (Brown) Parker in Nashville, Ark. Billie graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1949. She was the founder and owner of Slezak Realty Company in Hot Springs, Ark. Mrs. Slezak was one of the first women to establish her own realty company in Garland County. She was a past president of the Hot Springs Board of Realtors. Billie Slezak was of the Catholic faith. Mrs. Slezak is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James W. Slezak Sr.; sisters, Ila Shelton, Irma Hollingshead, and Helen Burks; and brother, Kenneth Parker. Billie is survived by her sons, Dr. James W. Slezak Jr. (Claudia) of Springdale, Ark., and Michael Dean Slezak Sr. of Hot Springs, Ark.; grandchildren, Matthew James Slezak, Michael Dean Slezak Jr., Sarah Anne Fuller, and Emily Marie Slezak; and great-grandchild, Alexia J. Fuller. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday with Rosary at 6 p.m. at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary of the Springs Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Crestview Cemetery. The services will be officiated by Father Bill Thomas. Pallbearers will include Matthew James Slezak, Michael Dean Slezak Jr., Richard E. Van Gelder, and Robert S. Murphy. Honorary pallbearers include Dr. John Wayne Smith, Dr. Robert McCrary, Dr. Rajesh Schroff, Dr. Bob Johnson, and Dr. Tom Hollis Sr. Guests may register at http://www.caruth-hale.com.
