Gordon John Kennett

Gordon John Kennett, of Berryville, Arkansas, was born February 28, 1917 at Chicago, Illinois. He passed away December 4, 2010. He was 93 at the time of his passing. On July 10, 1951, Gordon was united in marriage to Jean L. Cranwell. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul V. and Grace Kennett, his wife Jean L. Kennett, one brother, Donald P. Kennett and one son, Donald Daniel Kennett. Gordon is survived by two sons: John Bruce Kennett (and John's wife Julie) of Berryville, Arkansas and Bruce Jeffery Kennett (and Bruce's wife Jill) of Ephrata, Pennsylvania. Gordon is also survived by five grandchildren: Danielle Kennett-Brower (husband Kenneth Brower), Jennifer Kennett, Andrew Kennett (wife Michelle), Jeffrey Kennett, and Jason Kennett (wife Erica). He also is survived by five great-grandchildren: Braden, Rhett, and Gracie Kennett (Jason and Erica) and Ryan and Sydney (Andrew and Michelle). Gordon was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and served his country during WWII in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre as a Radio Technician, 1 st Class. His work experience included working as the mid-west service manager for Hewlett-Packard and later building and running his own motel (The Swiss Village in Eureka Springs) with his wife Jean. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m., on Friday, December 10, 2010 at Fayetteville National Military Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Gordon would have wanted you to donate to a charity of your choice.
