SPRINGDALE -- A food truck sponsored by Northwest Arkansas Community College's Brightwater culinary program will serve dinner downtown this fall.

The Downtown Springdale Alliance the is partnering with Brightwater: A Center for the Study of Food and Velocity Group to bring the food truck to Shiloh Square in the downtown area, according to a news release.

"Since we established the outdoor dining district on Aug. 11, we have seen a noticeable boost in lunches eaten in downtown and in our dinner scene. Partnering with Brightwater and Velocity Group will only serve to further enhance the dinner culinary scene and provide our community with more culinary options," said Jill Dabbs, alliance executive director, in a press release.

The truck will be open during dinner hours and feature a rotating slate of local, regional and national chefs, giving Brightwater students chances to observe and learn.

"This project speaks directly to our vision 'to make the study and craft of food accessible to all, creatively, entrepreneurially and sustainably,'" said Brightwater Executive Director Marshall J. Shafkowitz.

Chefs Travis McConnel and Arturo Solis of the hospitality group Ropeswing will participate Sept. 25-26, according to the release.

Downtown Springdale, Brightwater and Velocity will post updates when the truck will be downtown on their Facebook pages, according to the release.
