Virtual art exhibit

A virtual exhibition of abstract works in colored pencils, chalk pastel and acrylic paint by Mallory Newbern, titled "Contrast, First and Foremost," and oil paintings by Austin Grimes, titled, "A Nonagenarian's Selective Views of This World," debuts at 5 p.m. Friday on the website of Little Rock's Christ Episcopal Church: christchurchlr.org. The artwork will be on display and for sale through Dec. 31.

History sandwich

The former Winchester Auto Store, 801 S. Spring St., Little Rock, now the home of Polk Stanley Wilcox Architects, will be the focus of the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program's virtual Sandwiching in History tour, noon Friday, via a Facebook Watch Party on the program's Facebook page (facebook.com/ARHistoricPreservation). Boomtown Opry

Steve Harrell, Brandon Gabbert, Rick Jones, Zach Abbott, Leslie Word, Mason Halstead and Southern Koast (the singing duo of Keith Owens and Susan Tolin) will be the featured performers for the KTVE Boomtown Opry's "Hometown Show," 7 p.m. Saturday at the El Dorado Municipal Auditorium, 100 W. Eighth St., El Dorado. Tickets are $10 in advance through itickets.com; at the door, $15, $5 for children 12 and younger, free for children 5 and under. Hybrid arts camps

The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, 701 S. Main St., Pine Bluff, has created a lineup of hybrid camps in art, poetry slam, cooking and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) in July with online and on-site instruction.

The first six campers to sign up can take advantage of in-person instruction. All campers can access online video and links they can download and keep for reference. The center will deliver or make available for pick-up camp packets for virtual campers.

Heritage grants

The Division of Arkansas Heritage is making available grants of up to $5,000 to help nonprofit organizations, "designed to help foster awareness and enjoyment of Arkansas heritage and to assist in planning and implementing meaningful Arkansas projects such as exhibits, events or festivals and curriculum or teaching tools," according to a news release.
