ADDING A SIP OF BURGUNDY

Radio station fundraiser features booze and jazz

The name of The Friends of KLRE/KUAR fundraiser -- Block, Beer and Bourbon -- became even more alliterative this year with the addition of Burgundy. Block, Beer and Bourbon (and Burgundy) was held Jan. 11 at the Albert Pike Masonic Center.

The event began with a pre-party VIP reception featuring tastings of rare bourbon and exclusive wines and beer. All partygoers received a souvenir tasting glass for sampling the spirits, beer and wine provided by O'Looneys Wine and Liquor. A buffet of delicious food was provided by The Pantry.

The Block in the event name was the Rodney Block Collective which provided the evening's entertainment. Burgundy was a nod to the wine tasting.

Money raised at the event supports the University of Arkansas at Little Rock public radio stations KLRE and KUAR.
