Seven people on Friday were added to the list of candidates seeking school board positions in Little Rock and North Little Rock in the Nov. 3 election.
Five of the additional candidates are running for unpaid, three-year terms on what will be a reestablished Little Rock School Board of nine members.
They are:

• Ryan D. Davis
In the North Little Rock district, two people who have a history with the board will have their names on the ballot. They are:

• Lizbeth Huggins
Zone 6
• Jon "J.T." Zakrzewski
Information on Wiley from Little Rock's Zone 3 and Kingsby in Zone 6 was not immediately available Friday evening.

Anderson from Zone 6 is the immediate past president of the Little Rock School District's Parent Teacher Association Council. She is chief executive officer of Arkansas State Independent Living Council, a grassroots organization that advocates for disabled people.
Anderson is a graduate of the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville with a degree in education, and has a master's in business administration from Harding University. She is an adjunct professor at Webster University. She is the mother of two adult daughters who graduated from the Arkansas School for the Deaf, and two adopted children who will be attending Brady Elementary.
Hatter, also running from Zone 6, is the mother of two and works for a fleet management firm in an accounting position. She is a longtime, frequent speaker at the Arkansas Board of Education, in support of the return of local governance to the Little Rock district. She was recently an unsuccessful candidate for the Pulaski County Quorum Court.
Davis, who is running from Little Rock's Zone 7, is director of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock-Children International, a nonprofit organization that works to support children, youths and families. A former candidate for the Arkansas House of Representatives, Davis is also chair of the board of Mosaic Templars Cultural Center and executive board member of the Friends of Mosaic Templars Cultural Center.
Davis is a Little Rock Central High graduate who studied American studies and religion at Lake Forest College in Illinois. He also studied African American studies at the University of Wisconsin, according to his website. He and his wife have three young children.
Davis will face Norma Johnson, a former member of the Little Rock School Board, who filed earlier in the week.
In North Little Rock, Huggins is the current Zone 4 member of the school board. She was appointed in December to fill the term of a board member who resigned. She is being challenged by Angela Person West, who filed earlier this week. She is the mother of two and an advocate for dyslexia education.
Zakrzewski, a systems applications and design engineer, is running for the North Little Rock district's Zone 6, a board seat he held from 2011 to 2014. He is the married father of two, including a Class of 2020 North Little Rock High School graduate. He is running for the seat now held by Sandra Campbell, who won the seat from him in 2014. A graduate of North Little Rock High, he has an electrical engineering degree from the University of Missouri and a master's from the University of Alabama at Huntsville.
No candidates have filed for the Little Rock School District's Zone 1 position as of Friday.
The Little Rock school district has been operating without an elected board since January 2015, when the state Board of Education took control of the district because six of the district's then 48 schools were classified as academically distressed for chronically low student test scores.
The state board late last year voted to return the district -- with limitations -- to the governance of a nine-member elected board.
No candidates have filed for open positions in the Pulaski County Special School District.
The candidate filing deadline is noon Monday.
