A state commission announced today the approval of a loan to install a new water main for the Rambo Water District near Beaver Lake.

The commission approved a loan up to $650,996 to the Benton County Water Authority of District No. 5 from the Arkansas Drinking Water State Revolving Loan Fund, according to a news release from the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission.

The project will replace the existing water system where a well tested positive for cyanide about two years ago, according to the release.

"The project will provide safe and reliable water source for the residents of Rambo Riviera by obtaining treated water from Beaver Lake and becoming a part of BCWA No. 5," said Mark Bennett, ANRC Water Development Division Manager.

The new water main will be 4 inches in diameter and will connect to Benton County Water Authority No. 5 at the intersection of Rambo Road and Huckleberry Hills Road.

The repayment schedule of the loan will not exceed twenty years or the life of the project, according to the release.
