SPRINGDALE -- Springdale police have arrested Billson Andrike in connection with fleeing after he reportedly admitted in court that he was involved in an incident in which police say shots were fired after a vehicle break-in.

According to a police report, Andrike, 21, of 8448 Via Silva in Springdale, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of flight from an officer after the vehicle he was in crashed near the intersection of 48th Street and Celeste Drive. The vehicle hit a concrete ditch inside the Johnson City Limits. Springdale police had been pursuing the vehicle from the intersection of Sunset Avenue and 48th Street.

According to police, a man called 9-1-1 around 1:30 a.m on July 8 to report he had caught several juveniles breaking into his girlfriend's car in the area of 4527 CB Place. The suspects got into a blue Ford Explorer and headed west on Wagon Wheel Road. The caller said a passenger in the Explorer fired two shots at him.

An officer located the Explorer about 20 minutes later and attempted to make a traffic stop. The Explorer fled south on 48th Street and crashed at 48th Street and Celeste Drive.

The occupants of the Explorer fled on foot but police said Andrike was caught and arrested.

According to the police report, during an arraignment hearing in Springdale District Court, Andrike said he was the driver of the vehicle during the pursuit. He was arrested in connection with fleeing, a felony, and booked into the Washington County Detention Center on Monday. He was being held in the Detention Center Tuesday with no bond set.
