Minimal snow, ice accumulation, strong wind gusts expected for Northwest Arkansas

Northwest Arkansas could see up to an inch of snow accumulation as well as minimal ice glazing on roads throughout Saturday morning, according to a report from the National Weather Service.

A winter weather advisory has been issued until 6.p.m. Saturday, with snowfall expected to end by early evening in northwest Arkansas and by early afternoon for eastern Oklahoma.

The snow is expected to be accompanied by strong wind gusts throughout midday, according to the report. Some gusts are anticipated to blow 35 to 40 miles per hour, according to the report.

Temperatures throughout northwest Arkansas and portions of eastern Oklahoma are expected to stay below freezing.

The cold front will disappear quickly by the end of the weekend, according to the report. Temperatures are expected to be back in the 40s on Sunday and the 50s on Monday.
