State agency's Buffalo River panel delays quarterly session

The Beautiful Buffalo River Action Committee's first-quarter meeting of 2019 that was scheduled for today has been postponed, according to a news release Monday from the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality.

A new date has not been set, the release said.

Gov. Asa Hutchinson established the committee in 2016 to address water quality concerns throughout the Buffalo River Watershed. The committee provides direction and helps coordinate state agencies and partners interested in protecting and maintaining the watershed.

The Arkansas Department of Health, Arkansas Agriculture Department, Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism, Arkansas Natural Resources Commission and Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality comprise the committee. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and Arkansas Geographic Information Systems Office are supporting partners.
