SPRINGDALE -- Police arrested Andrew Palmer, 20, in connection with raping a woman at Murphy Park, according to a preliminary arrest report.
A woman told police she was in the women's restroom at the park about 1:35 a.m. Friday when she saw a man matching Palmer's description. The man hit her, knocking her to the ground. He took her pants off, dragged her into a stall and raped her, according to the report.
The woman said he took her phone when she tried to call police and kept it, according to the report.
Palmer was arrested Friday in connection with kidnapping, battery, interference with emergency communications and theft of property.
He was being held in the Washington County Detention Center with no bond set.
