BASEBALL

Time set for Arkansas-UALR scrimmage

The University of Arkansas and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock will scrimmage at 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 12 at Gary Hogan Field in Little Rock.

Ticket information will be announced in the coming days.

The scrimmage will not count toward the team's 56-game regular-season limit and will be played the day before the Razorbacks' football team meets Ole Miss at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.

The two teams are scheduled to play each other April 2 at Baum Stadium in Fayetteville.

WOMEN'S GOLF

Wall eliminated in Round of 16

Heather Wall, former golf coach at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, was eliminated in the round of 16 at the U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur at Norwood Hills Country Club in St. Louis.

Wall lost 4 and 3 to Lauren Greenlief of Ashburn, Va. Wall lost the first three holes and five of the first six. She rallied to win the 10th, 11th and 12th holes to go from five down to two down before Greenlief won the next two holes and tied the 15th to end the match.

Greenlief will meet Michelle Butler of Columbia, Mo., in today's quarterfinal.

Earlier in the day, Wall defeated Julie Streng of Greensboro, N.C., 1 up in the round of 32 when she made par on the final hole while Streng made a bogey.

UCA in 18th place

The University of Central Arkansas is in 18th place after two rounds at the Golfweek Conference Challenge in Wolcott, Colo.

The Bears have a 36-hole score of 625. UCLA leads with a 561 followed by Pepperdine at 574.

Individually, UCA's Emma Svensson is tied for 23rd with a 147.

The tournament resumes today.

Harding runner-up in Oklahoma

Harding University finished second at the Oklahoma Baptist Fall Invitational in Shawnee, Okla.

The Lady Bisons shot a 326 in the second round to finish with a 653. Oklahoma Baptist won with a 628 after shooting a 318 in the second round. Murray State Community College (Okla.) was third and Southern Arkansas University was fourth at 663. The University of Arkansas at Monticello finished eighth at 714.

Individually, Harding's Brooklyn Terry finished fourth at 156 and Southern Arkansas' Bailey Carr finished with a 157. Belle Tan of Arkansas-Monticello finished tied for 21st with a 168.

Arkansas Tech takes second in Arizona

Arkansas Tech shot a 580 to finish second at the Western New Mexico Fall Intercollegiate in Goodyear, Ariz.

The Golden Suns lost by five strokes to California State-San Marcos.

Individually, Arkansas Tech's Peerada Piddon and Allie Weiner finished tied for fifth at 144. Jacqueline Klemm and Sydney Staton finished tied for eighth at 145.

MEN'S GOLF

UALR'S Warren second in Dallas

Justin Warren of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock finished second at the Trinity Forest Invitational with an 11-under 202, losing to Thomas Rosenmueller of North Texas by two strokes.

Warren started with rounds of 64 and 66 and finished with a 72 on Tuesday.

As a team, UALR finished in sixth with an 845. Baylor won with a 824, edging SMU by one stroke.

UAFS finishes third in Minnesota

The University of Arkansas at Fort Smith finished third at the J.R. Watkins Invitational in Lake City, Minn.

The Lions finished with a 597, five shots back of Washburn (Kan.). Minot State (N.D.) was second with a 594.

Individually, Arkansas-Fort Smith's Parker Jennings finished tied for seventh with a 147.

Southern Arkansas takes fourth

Southern Arkansas University finished fourth at the Missouri Southern State University Fall Invitational in Monkey Island, Okla.

The Muleriders finished with a 863, 15 strokes back of Oklahoma Christian. St. Mary's (Texas) was second with an 851. Harding University finished eighth with a 889.

Individually, Roman Timmerman of Southern Arkansas finished 19th with a 217 and Harding's Trevor Mellot finished tied for 26th with a 220.

VOLLEYBALL

UCA sweeps SE Louisiana

The University of Central Arkansas swept Southeastern Louisiana 25-14, 25-15, 25-18 on Tuesday night in Conway.

Kellen Dunn led the Bears (11-4, 1-1 Southland Conference) with nine kills. Bailey Waddington had 30 assists. Michelle Mirachi led Southeastern Louisiana (1-12, 0-2) with 11 assists.
