Authorities have named a 66-year-old man who died after he was partially ejected from a Jeep in a crash earlier this month in Northwest Arkansas.

The wreck happened shortly after 1:30 p.m. Sept. 15 on County Road 9560 in Newton County, according to an Arkansas State Police report released this week.

Troopers wrote that Clyde Sparks of Ozone was driving a 1978 Jeep east when the vehicle overturned on the driver's side. Sparks was partially ejected, the report states.

It was not clear if he died at the scene.

The Newton County sheriff's office, the agency investigating the crash, did not return multiple calls inquiring why the report was not published until more than a week after the crash.

Conditions were described as clear and dry at the time of the wreck.

At least 359 people have died in crashes on Arkansas roads so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
