SPRINGDALE -- Construction on the Interstate 49 shoulder in Johnson and Springdale requires night lane closings this week.
Crews will remove temporary barrier walls on the inside shoulders of northbound and southbound I-49 north of the Clear Creek bridge, weather permitting, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation officials. The inside lane will be closed between mile markers 68 and 70 to perform the work.
The overnight lane closings will be in effect Wednesday night through Thursday morning. The northbound inside lane will be closed between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., and the southbound inside lane will be closed between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. Traffic will be controlled using signs and barrels.
