Megan Renee Baker Blake Orie Hollingshead

Sassafras Springs Vineyard and Winery in Springdale was the setting at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, for the marriage of Megan Renee Baker and Blake Orie Hollingshead. Clark Nolan of Fellowship Fayetteville officiated.

Janet and Mark Baker of Little Rock are the parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of the late Norma Jean and Stanley Rushin and the late Geneva and Steve Baker.

The groom is the son of Carol and Richard Hollingshead of Wichita, Kan. His grandparents are Barbara and Elmer Schuette of Spearville Kan.; Melva Hollingshead and the late Evedna Hollingshead and Orie Hollingshead, all of Wichita.

The entry to the ceremony was marked with two arrangements of hydrangeas, garden roses, freesia, wax flower and tulips. The altar held a hand-made floral-covered cross. Music was by Jenna and David Matthews.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a lace ballgown with a V-neck bodice and full skirt. She carried a garden-style bouquet of hydrangeas, roses, freesia, tulips and Queen Anne's lace.

Michelle Yount of Fayetteville served as her sister's matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Lauren Eldridge of Little Rock; Shelby Free of Fayetteville; Holly Hilliard of Durham, N.C.; Haley Hornbeck of Niceville, Fla.; Mary Elizabeth Sixbey of Washington; Adrienne Smith of Lowell; and Nikole Wynne of Wichita, sister of the groom. They wore steel-blue gowns in different styles and carried a smaller version of the bridal bouquet.

Flower girls were Emerlee, Haylee and Lynlee Hollingshead of Claflin, Kan., nieces of the groom, and Maren Yount of Fayetteville, niece of the bride. Ring bearers were Roarke Hollingshead of Leawood, Kan., nephew of the groom, and Baker Yount of Fayetteville, nephew of the bride.

Best man was Michael Hollingshead of Leawood, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Dereck Hollingshead of Claflin, brother of the groom; Lee Crippen of Denver; Charles Flanders of Roeland Park, Kan.; Bryant Johnson of Denver; Phillip Knopp of Lynchburg, Va.; Christopher Lawhorn of Tempe, Ariz.; and Joey Raper of Belleview, Wash. Guests were seated by Joey Beeler of Chattanooga, Tenn.; Derek Dixon of Wichita; Tucker Noyes of Kansas City, Mo.; and Reed Smith of Denver.

Wine barrels topped with arrangements of wedding flowers marked the entrance to a reception, also at Sassafras Springs. Tables were decorated with arrangements of hydrangeas, roses and tulips. Music was by Boom! Kinetic.

The bride has a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, and a doctor of physical therapy from Rockhurst University in Kansas City and is a physical therapist.

The groom has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Kansas and is a structural engineer at Anderson Engineering.

The couple will reside in Fayetteville after a wedding trip to Mexico.
