Lauren Whitney Hovis Michael Chase Grounds

Lauren Whitney Hovis and Michael Chase Grounds were united in marriage at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, in a small family ceremony at The Pearl, a hotel in Rosemary Beach, Fla. Kevin Tillman officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Kathy and Floyd Hovis Jr. of Leesburg, Va. Her grandparents are Melba June and the late Floyd Hovis of Black River Falls, Wis., Joyce Schemkes of Cedar Hill, Mo., and the late Alvin Wilson of West Plains, Mo.

Jo and Mike Grounds of North Little Rock are the parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Mary Edd and the late Dan R. Grounds of Ashdown and the late Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Jacoway.

The ceremony site was decorated with blue hydrangeas, lavender roses, blush pink spray roses, dusty miller and blue thistle.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of soft tulle with a sweetheart neckline and carried a bouquet of hydrangeas, roses, dusty miller, blue thistle and silver dollar eucalyptus.

A reception in the hotel's restaurant was held after the ceremony.

The bride graduated summa cum laude from Virginia Tech with a bachelor's degree in psychology and from Johns Hopkins University with a master's degree in clinical community counseling. She is director of behavioral health at Good Neighbor behavioral health agency.

The groom is a graduate of the University of Arkansas with a bachelor's degree in business administration and finance. He has a master's degree in business administration from Clemson University and is a senior budget analyst for Chesterfield County, Va.

The couple will live in Richmond, Va., and plan a spring wedding trip to Greece.
